10 Ways to Make the Time Fly in Haneda!
Last month, May 2026, I found myself with a few hours to spare in Terminal 3 of Haneda Airport. But the time 'flew' with all there is to do and see in the airport. Here is a pick of ten ways to spend time or ten things you can do in Terminal 3 Haneda Airport before you go through security, or even before you check-in / drop your luggage. Each idea is linked to a City-cost post with more information.

1. Get dressed in a kimono or yukata
Opt for a quick dressing or a more genuine experience at Kimono Culture Station. You have about one hour then to walk around the airport in the rented kimono / yukata, and get some memorable photos ↴
2. Take some photos
There are several scenic photo spots in Haneda's terminal 3 including the "Nihonbashi Bridge". You can find seats with red coverings and red parasols at several different areas in the terminal. And right now, in 2026, there is a not to miss giant godzilla.
3. Write a prayer before you take to the air
Those photo spots are located close to the "Festival Plaza", which is also photogenic. Moreover, it has a vending machine that dispenses kifuda that you can write a prayer on and hang with hundreds of others.
4. Tour the vending machines
The kifuda vending machine is not the only unique vending machine in Haneda Airport. Right beside it there is another that dispenses kutani-yaki souvenirs. Reportedly, there are several more unique vending machines in the airport - how many can you find!?
5. Souvenir Shopping
If you'd rather do your souvenir shopping in a store rather than from a vending machine, there are a huge number of choices in Haneda Airport's Terminal 3. Such as the cute character shop "Haikara". You will find many more in the review section of City-cost.

6. Play "Gacha"
Or perhaps you'd like to bring some unique 'gacha' capsule toys home as a souvenir either for yourself or your loved ones. Gacha World has a great choice and it's photogenic to boot.
7. Race miniature cars
Close to Gacha World and Haikara, there is another souvenir store of note. Hakuhin-kan Toy Park has a mini car racetrack that you can pay to play and wile the time away.
8. Observe the planes
There is a free observation deck in Terminal 3. But there is also an observation deck in the Expasa Cafe and it is the only eatery in the airport with a view of the planes. Nearby, there is also a small, but free area with a small display of model airplanes from various airlines.
9. View the stars
If you would prefer to view the stars rather than the planes, that is something you can do on the observation decks on a clear night. OR, you can do it during the day too, and in style, at the Starry Cafe!
10. Get your last taste of Tokyo / Japan
There is a vast selection of eateries at Terminal 3. For those on a budget, there are convenience stores and chain restaurants such as Subway (new since March 2026). But if you want to get your last taste of Japan you will find many options. Check out the review section of City-cost for some inspiration.
What other ways have you spent time at Haneda Airport Terminal 3? Or perhaps, you have ideas for their other terminals?
