Godzilla in Haneda airport

Gallery - Haneda Airport Godzilla

It was a lovely surprise to see a giant Godzilla in Haneda Airport's Terminal 3 earlier this week. When I got to my final destination I looked it up online and it would seem the one-of-a-kind colossal Godzilla monument is a temporary exhibition until December 2026.  According to the official "Haneda Godzilla Global Project" website, the monument is approximately 40 meters long and nine meters high.

The monument is positioned over the roof of the "Edo Marketplace". As such, you can't get close to it, but you can see it from afar. It was instantly visible when I arrived to the departure lobby. It is modeled on the original Godzilla suit design from 1954.  In addition, a colorful picture scroll depicting monsters from across Godzilla’s long history is installed above the arrival lobby information desk and there is a separate human size statue in another part of the lobby too.
