A pocket of affordability at Haneda Airport
I recently had a few hours to burn in Haneda Airport Terminal 3. It is not a bad place to have to spend a few hours. But it can get quite pricey, which is to expect at any airport around the world. However, Haneda Airport has a nice, albeit small area, that will appeal to those on a tighter budget.
The 'pocket of affordability' as I call it, is located on the third floor of Terminal 3. It is in an area before the check-in gates. If you arrive by train, when you come out the ticket gates, the check-in gates are to the right. But if you go straight, toward the elevators that lead to the bus drop off area, you will find this gem of an area. There are only four stores, but three of them are affordable.
They are a 7-Eleven, a Subway and a Matsumoto Kiyoshi. The 7-Eleven sells everything you find at any 7-Eleven convenience store around Japan - food, drink, cigarettes etc. The Subway is a new addition to Haneda airport: it only opened in March this year (2026). It has a nice seating area. The third store is Matsumoto Kiyoshi where you can pick up medicines, cosmetics, toiletries and hygiene products too. Between them, they cover the key things you might need for or before a flight.
