If you’re new to Japan and want a quick, affordable way to figure out which Japanese desserts you enjoy most, Steak Gusto is a great place to start. Their menu includes a special option where you can choose three desserts at a discounted price, making it easy to sample a variety without overspending. Because each dessert comes in a miniature portion, you can try several classics without feeling overly full. It’s an ideal way to get a gentle introduction to sweets that are common in Japan but may be completely new to you.

Currently, there are 12 desserts on the menu, but it does vary from time to time. Earlier in the year they had 13 options. Of those options, just over half of the selections are long‑term menu regulars. In addition, the most popular item has also stayed at the top of the rankings for a long time. That is the "Freshly Piped Mont Blanc". For me personally, the "Crispy Apple Pie" was my favorite for many years - the regular size one on the Grand Menu, rather than the mini one featured in this post. They taste the same, just different sizes. However, having recently tried the "Smooth Tiramisu", I am torn between the two! I quite like the Gateau Chocolat as well as the Fruit Almond Jelly too.
