The description
Steak Gusto's Gateau Chocolat is a rich, compact gateau chocolat topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle and some chocolate pieces. Dense, sweet, and satisfying.
The good
This Chocolat Gateau, by Steak Gusto's, was really good. It is a delightful mini‑dessert that delivers more richness than its size suggests. The cake is dense and fudgy, offering a deep chocolate flavor that pairs beautifully with the soft whipped cream on top. The drizzle adds a touch of sweetness and makes the presentation feel a bit special. And the chocolate bits add texture too. It’s the kind of dessert that feels indulgent without being heavy, perfect for ending a meal on a comforting, chocolatey note. The price is really good too at 180 yen and if you buy three of their desserts together you get a discount.
The not so good
While this chocolat Gateau was really good, its tiny. It looked like half a cake when it arrived at the table. You definitely wouldn't be sharing it with anyone. But it is also surprisingly filling. It was more filling than the other of the desserts I tried from their desserts menu. I thought it was really good, but some may find it overly sweet, especially if you prefer darker, more bittersweet chocolate. Some may find the texture of the cake a bit too dense or perhaps even slightly dry, especially if you don't pair it with the whipped cream it is served with. Some might find it lacking complexity compared to café‑style chocolate cakes, but overall, I thought it was a good portion and texture to finish off a big meal.
