Having tasted Steak Gusto's coffee jelly within their tiramisu dessert (also reviewed below) I realized that I don't dislike coffee jelly as much as I once believed. So, I took the next step and for the first time in my life tried a whole glass of coffee jelly at Steak Gusto... and quite liked it! It wouldn't be my favorite dessert, but I would buy it again. The coffee flavor is gentle and true to its name the jelly is jiggly! I like the texture of this jelly - not too melty and not too hard, just right. The sweet, whipped cream adds a nice balance and the cherry on top is a nice touch - a bit of color pop as well as texture / taste balance.

While this jiggly coffee jelly pleasantly surprised me and I liked it more than I expected, I did find it a bit too one note - despite the sweet, whipped cream and cherry. I much preferred the taste of the jelly when mixed with tiramisu, which is another dessert that is available at Steak Gusto, and, as I mentioned above, you can find it also reviewed on City-cost. The portion is very small and could leave you feeling unsatisfied. But then the price reflects that at just 200 yen (220 with tax). Steak Gusto has a deal of three desserts for just 520 yen. This dessert is probably best ordered with another if you want a more filling and satiating experience.
