The description

A freshly piped Mont Blanc made with rich chestnut cream and a hint of tart raspberry. Soft, nutty, and elegant; a small dessert with a surprisingly luxurious feel.

The good

This review is by my daughter, because I actually can't eat Mont Blanc as I have an allergy to chestnuts. It is very widely advertised and accepted that the Mont Blanc is Steak Gusto's most popular dessert. There are 13 different desserts on the "mini" menu in total. They cost 180 each, but if you buy two it is 340 yen and if you order three it is only 460 yen, working out at just 154 yen each. Within the mini desserts the Mont Blanc is probably one of the larger ones - it certainly looks bigger than the others but that may be just due to the height of the freshly piped chestnut cream.

The not so good

Like me, at this stage my daughter has tried several of Steak Gusto's mini desserts, but for her it is not top of her list. She much prefers their crusty apple pie and their homemade rich pudding - you will find both of those reviewed on City-cost. She is a Mont Blanc fan though and has tried different ones over the years - she classifies Steak Gusto's as good, but nothing special. The portion is small, and the overall flavor profile is subtle enough that it may not stand out compared to more decadent café‑style Mont Blancs. Pleasant, but perhaps not satisfying for strong chestnut lovers.
