The Choc-Mint Chronicles: Choc-Mint Black Thunder Ice Cream

Guys - my obsession with all things choc mint is really not being helped by Japan this year. There's this multi-product entry, choc mint pocky, the choc mint black thunder bites, a mint chocolate choux cream, choc mint Blue Seal ice cream...honestly we're entering the stage where someone probably needs to organize an intervention.

Until someone sits me down in a room and starts talking about how I might need to tone it down a little, I bring you the latest choc mint offering - the choc mint black thunder ice cream. Earlier this year they released choc mint black thunder bites, and they tasted just like American thin mint cookies, which I'm a big fan of.

So how was the ice cream going to fare?

Outside the wrapper, you could see that the ice cream had clear biscuit/cookie chunks in it, based on the texture underneath the chocolate coating. 

Honest opinion, though? I didn't really like this all that much! The big cookie chunks in the ice cream didn't play well together, and it was almost too chocolatey tasting - it overpowered the mint. Choc-mint fans will know that it's a fine balancing act - you don't want too much mint, but too much chocolate isn't good either. 

Only an okay from me - I wouldn't repurchase!
