Ways to keep cool in summer: head to a cave!

The summers here are so oppressive that often it takes some novel thinking to stay cool, and I know that when I lived in Tokyo one of the best ways to cool off was heading to a cave -- the Nippara Limestone Cave in particular!

The cave is located in the Okutama area (famous for some great nature and outdoor activities), and the average temperature throughout the year is about 15 to 17 degrees Celsius. Visiting in summer means you often have to bring an extra layer with you, unless you really want to soak up the cooler temps!

If you're in the Tokyo area or not too far away, I'd recommend it as a unique way to beat the heat.
