The description

This product is a matcha and whipped cream filled dorayaki (called a doramochi due to the chewy texture). It was purchased at Lawson and priced at 225 yen including tax.

The good

If you enjoy a good filled dorayaki from time to time, this matcha and whipped cream option is a pleasant one to try. The outer pancake portion of the dorayaki is really tasty and chewy (hence the doramochi name!), and the inner cream filling is very generously portioned. I liked that there was a mix of both regular whipped cream and matcha flavored cream, as it offset any bitterness that would traditionally come with an only-matcha filling -- it added a nice, gentle sweetness as well. I felt like the price was reasonable too, given how generously packed the filling was.

The not so good

As I mentioned above, the cream filling is very generously packed in. This can be both a good thing and a bad thing -- it feels good from a value for money standpoint, but it can be a little messy when it comes to the actual consumption of the dorayaki. Just keep that in mind before you go biting into it! That aside, I really liked this, and would recommend it to anyone who likes matcha flavors and dorayaki. It's a limited time only product, so if it sounds good to you be sure to check at your nearest Lawson to see if it's available near you.
