The good
Today I blogged about the fact that to me, Mont Blanc season is a good indicator that the autumn season is finally here. This new MOW Italian Mont Blanc Ice Cream is a good example of that, so I had to add it to my basket recently! What's nice about this ice cream if you're averse to textures in your ice cream of choice is that it's fully smooth. There aren't any chunks of chestnut throughout, but it still has that lovely depth of flavor. Also, I feel like the price is pretty reasonable, coming in at under 200 yen even with tax added. Much cheaper than the likes of Haagen Dazs, for instance!
The not so good
As I mentioned above in the positive features section, there are no chunks of actual chestnut in this, it's a fully smooth ice cream. While that might be a selling point for some people, I'm sure that others will find it a bit lacking and would be wishing for actual chestnut pieces in it. Overall though, I think this is a pretty great deal for the price. The flavor is great, the ice cream itself has a lovely creaminess to it, and it feels very representative of this time of year. Keep an eye out for it at your nearest supermarket or convenience store if it sounds like a must-try to you -- happy eating, and enjoy! :)
