One of the world's best sunrise spots is right here in Japan

I think Japan and sunrises kinda go hand-in-hand, and it's a pretty big part of the culture here, IMO (e.g. traditions like hatsuhinode). Because of that, I thought it was interesting that this list by a UK travel company had Tokyo coming in 7th spot of the best sunrise spots around the world. Granted, their metric for measuring this was social media hashtags (so hardly a reliable source), but I did think it was pretty apt for Japan to make the top 10.

I do think there are plenty of nicer spots to enjoy the sun coming up than the city, though. One of my favorites out here in Niigata is the Shiori Toge Pass, which you can see below. The Sea of Clouds phenomenon that you can experience there makes it all the more special!
