The cultural luck of living in Japan

Something I have grown to appreciate so much during my years here is just how much there is to do culturally. One example of that is the current 400 Years of Western Paintings Exhibition at the Niigata Prefectural Museum of Modern Art.

It's running until August 23rd (a great reason to get out of the summer heat and indoors for a bit!), and there are so many fabulous works on display. One of the items on display is Claude Monet's Water Lilies, which is such a treat to see in real life.

Admission is super reasonable, too, at 1600 yen for adults. If an exhibition like this was held in my home country, I can imagine it being triple that, possibly more.
