Niigata named as one of Asia's underrated cities

I still tend to keep a pretty close eye on news websites back home, mainly to just keep abreast of what's happening and any changes to be aware of. Sometimes I also read the lifestyle sections, and an article from the Sydney Morning Herald caught my eye today! It was about 15 underrated cities in Asia, and naturally I had to take a peek to see if any Japan-based places were on the list. 

Niigata was one of the places that made the cut, as well as Nagoya for any of you based in Aichi. I was so pleased to see my home prefecture getting a bit of attention from abroad! The article mentioned the rice and sake culture here, along with destinations like Sado Island and the famous tarai-bune boat rides.
