A bear attack today, 5 minutes from home

I love where I live. It's an absolutely beautiful part of Japan, and I appreciate how chill and rural it is. However, there was a bear attack today close to Yairo Station, which is about a 5 minute drive from my house. 

The person who was attacked was in their 70s, and thankfully they've lived to tell the tale despite receiving some facial injuries. However, it's clear that bear season is well and truly up and running out this way, so if you're like me and live in a more countryside location, please take all of the necessary precautions!
