This was probably the item that I was most excited to try out of Family Mart's Black Thunder collaboration range, and it didn't disappoint! Before trying it I was already impressed by the price at only 185 yen including tax -- I feel like any sweet like this under 200 yen is a real win these days, so it gets points for that. It's an interesting fusion of a tart base at the bottom, chocolate flavored pie crusts, and then a layer of chocolate cream in between the pie crust layers. The top is then covered with a layer of chocolate cookies and chocolate, giving the whole thing that trademark Black Thunder crunchiness. We were fans!

This is a little messy to eat (flaky pastry, cookie crumbles falling off) so just keep that in mind if you plan on purchasing it. Overall though, I feel like this was a really tasty dessert item that does the Black Thunder bar justice in terms of its taste. Obviously, one key downside can be that it's only a limited time thing, so if you find yourself really enjoying it you only have a short window to get your hands on it. If it sounds tasty to you, be sure to head into your nearest Family Mart store ASAP. Happy eating!
