I'm a big fan of minimalist design, so this MUJI calendar appealed to me almost immediately. There's nothing flashy about it, which is exactly what I like. Each small page simply gives you the date, day of the week, holidays, Rokuyo (lucky and unlucky days of the Japanese calendar), and moon phase, without filling the space with unnecessary decoration. I also like that you can use it in two ways, either by hanging it on a wall or putting it on your desk using the included base. The daily tear-off format is satisfying, too, and gives you a fresh start every morning.

The minimalist design that I like so much could also be a downside for folks who are looking for a calendar with lots of space for appointments, notes, or reminders. The daily pages are quite small, so this is really more of a date-keeping calendar than something you'd use to organize your schedule (I'd still recommend a nice planner for that!). Personally, I think the simplicity is a big part of the charm, but at this price, some people may prefer a calendar that offers a little more functionality.
