Autumn is my favorite time of year for seasonal eats, with loads of delicious goodies making their way into sweet treats at cafes and convenience stores. Sweet potato and apple are two of them, and this new Mont Blanc mousse with Okinawan purple sweet potato and apples from Doutor incorporates both! From a visual perspective, I think the Mont Blanc-style topping and the gorgeous purple color make it look really pretty. Taste-wise, it's fab, too. The purple sweet potato mousse is balanced with a tart cheese whipped cream and fresh apple hidden inside the mousse. There's also a touch of rum which adds a bit of warmth and depth.

I think that for some folks this dessert could feel a little rich, with the mousse and cream creating a fairly heavy dessert. The purple sweet potato flavor may also be a bit much for anyone who isn't a fan (in saying that, I don't think this would be your first choice if that was the case), while the soft textures don't offer much crunch or contrast. Also, since it's a limited time offering, if you find yourself really liking this, one downside is that you've got a short window to get your hands on it. Head in to your nearest Doutor store sooner rather than later if it sounds tasty to you. Happy eating! :)
