St. Marc Cafe stores have a variety of sweet potato seasonal treats on their menu right now, a couple of which I reviewed today! If you prefer simplicity, though, this butter danish is a regular menu item and is delicious even without all the bells and whistles of some other options! The flaky, buttery danish pastry is topped with some slivered almonds, which I felt was a nice addition to the otherwise smooth-texture. It felt fresh, the portion size is pretty generous, and I feel like the price was alright at 290 yen -- you definitely could get a cheaper bread item at a convenience store, but this seemed higher quality to me.

While some people will appreciate the simplicity of this danish, I'm sure that there are just as many folks who will find it a bit bland. If you prefer more in the way of toppings and fillings in your danishes of choice, then this one might feel a bit lackluster. Overall though, I think it's quite an enjoyable treat. The flavor is good, the buttery taste is satisfying, and the price feels decent for the portion size. As far as I know this is available all the time at St. Marc Cafe stores, so it shouldn't disappear like the seasonal sweet potato items. Happy eating, and enjoy! :)
