The good
I was at Starbucks last week and it was one of those rare occasions when I didn’t actually want a coffee. Instead, I discovered this lovely drink on the iced tea list and gave it a try. I’m so glad I did! It is a very refreshing tea, fruity without being overly sour or sweet and somehow rich while being light. Starbucks lists hibiscus, orange peel, cinnamon and licorice as ingredients in the tea, but I don’t think any of those flavours stand out above any of the others. It’s an excellent blend, in any case, and just what I needed on a hot summer afternoon.
The not so good
I ordered a short size and the photo shows my glass before I had even taken a sip of it - I didn’t even get a full glass?! After actually drinking it, however, I don’t think I was shortchanged - I suspect it’s more to do with the glasses being designed for heavier frappuccinos instead of a single liquid tea. I think the volume ended up being quite enough. That said, as much as I enjoyed it, it is a little expensive for a single glass of iced tea. Like many of these cafe treats, it’s unlikely to become something I enjoy everyday because of that price tag. Still, I really liked it, and I think it’s something I’ll happily order again when the opportunity arises.
