Enjoying Starbucks’ Sakura Season

I’m a sucker for Starbucks at the best of times, aided and abetted by people giving me gift cards for the place (please don’t stop!). It’s something about it being so universal; there’s a feeling that I could be anywhere in the world when I’m there, perhaps even my hometown. 

I’m an especially big sucker for the Starbucks cherry blossom range, though. I can resist the allure of the pretty merchandise and the lovely looking frappucinos, but the sweets… the sweets, I cannot go past. I will always recommend the Sakura chiffon cream cake, and today, I enjoyed a sakura donut. Starbucks donuts are enjoyable anyway, but there's something about the mild cherry blossom flavour that just works wonderfully with the chewiness of the donut itself. 

I wanted to give a shout out to the especially pretty wrapping in which Starbucks are encasing their sweets this season. They're not only pretty, but they evoke something nostalgia, which seems very much in keeping with the symbolism cherry blossoms have anyway.

With sakura season itself mere days away, I know the sakura sweets will only be around a little longer. Here's to enjoying them while they last!
