The description
This Halal product is a pack of five Samyang's Rosé Buldak Bokkeum Myeon noodles, combining the brand's spicy stir-fried noodles with a creamy rosé-style sauce.
The good
After trying the Cheese Hot Chicken flavor by the same company, the rose flavor tasted way better by comparison. I appreciated that they are nowhere near as spicy as the hot chicken flavor. The noodles still have the thick, chewy texture that Samyang is known for, and they hold the sauce well. The rosé-inspired concept is also interesting, offering something a little different from the usual spicy instant noodle experience. I bought the pack with five individual noodle packets, which is a useful size for my family. I did notice that they sell individual packets too. Although, I eat pork, I did appreciate that they had it clearly stated on the packet for anyone that doesn't, that the product is Halal. The price isn't too bad either at 798 yen before tax, working out at just under 160 yen per individual packet. The packaging is cute and colorful.
The not so good
Samyang's Rosé Buldak Bokkeum Myeon was apparently inspired by tomato and cream pasta, but it does not come across in the flavor. Or at least it didn't to me. It tasted very undescriptive, like I had no idea what the flavor was supposed to be. I only found out after that it's supposed to taste something like tomato and cream pasta! As I said above, you can buy individual packets rather than committing to a pack of five. I wish that I had only bought one packet rather than a pack with five as nobody in my family liked the one we tried. I won't be buying this product or any Samyan Buldak noodles again!
