The description
This food product is a pack of two soft, sealed sandwich filled with sweet strawberry jam and fluffy whipped cream from Fujipan. With new cute packaging.
The good
Of the Fujipan Snack Sandwich range that I have tried so far, I liked this one the most. Strawberry Jam sandwiches bring me back to my childhood, where jam sandwiches are a common and popular quick fix lunch. Ironically though, I actually was never that much of a jam sandwich fan myself though. Because I found them too sweet and the texture too strange - dry bread and wet lumps of fruit! But I like this one because the whipped cream smooths it out and takes the edge off the jam sweetness. I also liked that because the sandwiches (there are two in the pack) are sealed, they don't create the same mess as open jam only sandwiches. The price is great too. I find that typically Fujipan is cheaper than Yamazaki bakery. I got this one for just 108 yen (before tax) at Ozam.
The not so good
The Ozam is not near my house so its not somewhere I can shop frequently. My local supermarket only stocks Fujipan from time to time. So, Fujipan's 'Snack Sandwiches' are not easy to come by in my area. Although, this sandwich is pitched as a snack or quick lunch, I personally wouldn't really eat it as either. I had it (shared) as a dessert. This, the chocolate one and the custard one are more like desserts in my opinion. They have others in the range that could work as a light lunch, such as the Egg one or the Egg & Chicken & Tuna one, which you will also find reviewed on City-cost.
