I don't shop at Yaoko very often, so it was nice to try one of their in-house desserts - presumably made on site. The banana pieces are cut into easy bites, coated in a smooth chocolate shell with colorful sprinkles that make it look fun and inviting. I bought it mainly for two elementary school aged children - but tried some too! It was good for sharing as a small after lunch treat. The whipped cream adds a gentle sweetness that pairs surprisingly well with the fruit. It’s convenient, visually cute, and satisfying without being too heavy. A handy pick‑me‑up dessert that feels like a festival snack you can enjoy at home.

While charming at first glance, this dessert can feel a bit one‑note after a few bites. The chocolate coating is sweet but slightly waxy, and the banana pieces vary in texture, with some firmer and others mushier. The whipped cream is generous, yet its sweetness can overwhelm the fruit rather than complement it. It was more than 400 yen after tax (398 yen before tax), which makes it quite costly for what you get. There was only about 10 pieces too, making it feel even more expensive. It would have been much cheaper to buy a couple of bananas as decorate them myself, but I didn't have that kind of time!
