The description
Mon Plaisir's Tiramisu (¥570 before tax) layers mascarpone cheese with moist coffee sponge. Despite its modest price, this Petit Gateau delivers rich flavor and is the standout.
The good
We have had a few different celebrations in the past month, with the result I have been to Patisserie Mon Plaisir a few times in the last four weeks. Over that period, we have tried about 12 desserts, most of which I have since reviewed on City-cost. But I saved the best for last! Mon Plaisir's Tiramisu was my favorite of the recent desserts I have bought from the store. I am pretty sure that I had it a few years ago, but I don't remember it. And looking at the outdated photo on the official website, it looks like they've given it an upgrade recently. It certainly looks far more appetizing than the photo they have on their website. And I can tell you it is truly delicious, if Tiramisu is something you normally enjoy.
The not so good
Although this Tiramisu was my favorite cake from our recent visits, there are still a few points that potential buyers may wish to consider. The first is presentation consistency. As I pointed out above, the cake I received looked noticeably different from the version shown on Mon Plaisir's website. In my case, the actual product looked much better, but experiences may vary. Customers who expect their purchase to closely match promotional photographs should keep this in mind. Those who are not particularly fond of coffee-flavoured desserts may also find the flavor profile less appealing. While the coffee sponge contributes much of the cake's character, people who prefer fruit-based cakes or sweeter, more chocolate-focused desserts may not enjoy the slightly more mature flavor combination. The tiramisu flavor is balanced rather than intensely sweet.
