The description
This product is a soft, café‑style coffee konjac jelly with a smooth texture and mellow roasted flavor, by "Premium Cafe", a brand of Orihiro Co. Ltd.
The good
The key positive features; individually packed, easy to enjoy, and perfect as a light, low‑calorie treat anytime. Having recently discovered I don't dislike coffee flavored jelly as much as I previously thought I did, I decided to give Orihiro's Premium Cafe Coffee Konjac jelly a shot! And no regrets, but I still wouldn't be buying it regularly. I was in part attracted to the packaging, which is stylish. The size of the individual portions is good too. They make a nice add-on to a packed bento. The jelly is easy to squeeze from them too. The taste is refreshing and not too sweet.
The not so good
I didn't print my receipt - doing my bit to reduce waste - and I can't remember the price exactly, but I have noticed the price varies greatly between supermarket and drug store chains. On average I think they cost around 200 yen, which isn't bad for ten individual jellies, working out at just 20 yen each. But it is more expensive than other options out there. If you prefer strong or bitter coffee, this jelly may feel too mild and slightly watered down. The sweetness leans toward a syrupy finish, which can overshadow the coffee notes. The konjac texture is softer than usual, but some may find it a bit gelatinous or artificial.
