Lotte's Almond Chocolate is more chocolate dominant than other similar products on the market, which I prefer. They have a two-layer coating which gives them a smooth melt and pleasant cocoa richness. Each piece has a great balance of crisp almond and creamy chocolate. Despite the fact that cocoa and almonds are both really expensive to buy, the Lotte Almond Chocolate is relatively affordable at about 200 to 250 yen. The portion size is good too. The packaging is quite solid too, meaning that they chocolates travel relatively well. The almonds seem to be quite fresh and they are nicely crunchy too. The product feels a little bit healthier too wth a whole nut in the center!

This isn't a negative about the product per se, but a moan about how several products share the exact same name! In my home country it is very uncommon for chocolate bars to have the same name, but I suppose we have the issue with cereals! In Japan, its "almond chocolate". Meiji have a very similar product with the same name as does about five or six other brands. Apparently, like say "cornflakes", the name can't be trademarked as it is a description! Due to this I accidentally bought the Lotte Almond Chocolate rather than the Meiji one! However, it turned out to be serendipity as I prefer the Lotte one after trying it!
