Starts August 7th: Minions and Monsters

The chaotic charm of the Minions returns this summer with Minions & Monsters, opening in cinemas across Japan on Friday, August 7th, 2026. This new adventure throws the iconic yellow troublemakers into a colorful world filled with giant creatures, monster mayhem, and theme‑park‑style chaos.

From the poster alone, it’s clear this film leans into a playful “monster park” concept: roller coasters twisting in the background, oversized creatures looming over the Minions, and a palette of neon pinks, oranges, and electric blues.  Generally, I am not one for movies, but I have to say - I am very excited for the new Minions movie! 

Major cinema chains across Japan, including TOHO Cinemas, Aeon Cinema, United Cinemas, 109 Cinemas, MOVIX, will screen Minions & Monsters from opening day, Friday August 7th 2026. There is already a lot of hype about the movie and collaborations abound, with special, limited edition Minion products in celebration of the upcoming release.
