Nearly 68% of survey respondents worried about new cycling rules

Have you been cycling more cautiously since the new regulations came out at the start of this month? If so, you're not alone. A recent survey found that nearly 68% of respondents feel worried about the new "blue ticket" system now applied to bicycles.

One of the biggest concerns is riding on the road. While the rule states that bicycles should generally travel on the left side, many respondents said real-world conditions like parked cars and narrow streets make this feel unsafe. Others highlighted the challenges for parents, especially those who are riding alongside kiddos who are still learning.

There's also a bit of confusion around the rules themselves. Some respondents were worried they might accidentally commit a violation simply because the system is difficult to understand.

At the same time, the survey did show that not all feedback was negative. Some respondents welcomed the stricter enforcement, with the hopes it'll reduce dangerous cycling and improve overall road safety.
