A Gundam manhole in Minamiuonuma!

Something I love about life in Japan is the ability for the usually mundane to be beautiful. One of the key ways I see that in daily life is through manhole covers. In my home country they're not something I ever paid attention to, but here I love that they're often works of art in themselves.

I especially think it's fun when manhole covers incorporate things like anime and manga, since I feel like it's an additional connection to part of Japan's culture. Minamiuonuma has a couple of Gundam manhole covers, and this one is outside the Minamiuonuma Library in Muikamachi.
