Freckly apricots

If I had to pick a favorite variety of fruits, stone fruits would be right up there. I feel like peaches are easy to come across here (albeit fairly pricey), but other stone fruits like apricots and nectarines aren't as easy. In my home country they are everywhere, and it seems like helloalissa's blog from 2018 could relate.

I did see apricots (あんず in Japanese) at my local farmer's market this week, but they had a spotted appearance to them. I didn't purchase any, but when I got home I researched to see if they are fine to eat. Apparently they're just apricot freckles, and are relatively common, not impacting their edibleness.

It's been a while since I've had apricots, and these were decent sized bags for a reasonable price. I think even if you didn't like the spotty texture for eating them fresh, they could be good for making things like apricot jam!
