Summer food holidays: Kakigori Day

As I'm sure many of you are already aware, Japan has a whole host of unofficial holidays for various reasons, such as Cat Day (February 22nd) and Pocky Day (November 11th). There are also a variety of these days dedicated to summertime foodie favorites, including Kakigori Day! 

The summer foodie favorite of kakigori has its own special (but unofficial) holiday in Japan!

It's about a month away, and falls on July 25th each year. If you're looking for an excuse to indulge, you might want to have it coincide with that date!
