Some upcoming art events to be excited about

Something I adore about life here is that there are so many quality art exhibitions to attend at any given time of year. My home country often gets bypassed for bigger events, and I get it, since Australia is geographically far from a lot of other places. 

There are some really fun art exhibitions coming up, though, so if you're in any way interested these are some on my radar!

Girl With a Pearl Earring visiting Japan

This one is such a big deal that even news outlets like the Japan Times have written about it. Johannes Vermeer's iconic painting will be on display in Osaka from August 21st until September 27th. It's a painting that rarely travels, so if you're in the area I think it would be extremely cool to see! More info is on the official site here.

Capcom Exhibition

If you have any interest in gaming, this event is currently on in Tokyo and will be running until February 22nd. It has a focus on immersive and interactive installations, and after Tokyo it will be headed to Niigata, which is where I'm hoping to check it out! More info can be found here. 

Naked x Gaudi Exhibition

I am a big fan of all the digital art offerings that Japan has, and this one is being run by the Naked collective. It explores the works of architect Antoni Gaudi through a bunch of interactive experiences, and is being held at Shinagawa's Warehouse Terrada. More info is available on the official site here.
