The train station areas in Tokyo where rents are climbing fastest
Finding a reasonably priced place in a convenient location has never been easy, but new data suggests rents for single-person apartments are climbing even faster in some of Tokyo's most popular neighborhoods.

According to a new analysis by Daito Kentaku Partners using Iiheya Net rental listings, several stations across Tokyo's 23 wards have seen dramatic year-on-year rent increases, particularly for apartments around 25 square meters in size.
Leading the list is Nishi-Shinjuku Gochome, where average rents jumped by more than ¥32,000 over the past year to around ¥143,500 per month. Close behind are Nakano-Shinbashi and Nakano-Fujimicho (both on the Marunouchi Line), with rents increasing by roughly ¥30,000.
The survey really seems to highlight that convenience comes at a premium. Stations with quick access to major business hubs like Shinjuku and Otemachi are seeing the strongest demand, particularly among single renters who want to minimize their commute. Four of the top ten fastest-rising stations are located along the Marunouchi or Oedo subway lines.
