The description
This product is the Uchi Café×Milk White MILK Crepe, and it's a collaboration product available from Lawson at the moment. It was priced at 275 yen including tax.
The good
Lawson has had a few collaborations with the Milk brand before, the last one being about 6 months ago. This crepe is one of the new offerings in their current collab range, and there's quite a bit packed into it. The fillings include whipped cream using Hokkaido-sourced dairy, sponge cake, and a condensed milk sauce, so it's quite sweet! I didn't feel that the price of the product was bad when you compare it to filled crepes at places like Harajuku, so overall it's not a bad deal. I also thought for a collaboration product the price felt reasonable -- they often feel quite marked up, but this one seemed fine.
The not so good
For me, the individual fillings didn't seem to be balanced all that well. The sponge cake felt like it dominated, and I didn't really think it was the best quality sponge cake, either. The condensed milk sauce was quite sweet, and maybe I've just gotten used to Japanese desserts that are more muted in their sweetness, but this felt a bit too much for me. I think it was okay -- I'm still glad that I tried it -- but I'd say that a little is enough with this, and that if you don't really like too much sweetness then it's a good dessert to split with someone else.
