The description

This product is the new Truffle Chocolate Praline Donut, and it's part of a collaboration between Mister Donut and Godiva. It was priced at 352 yen including tax (eat-in, slightly cheaper for to-go).

The good

Along with the chocolate noir truffle donut, Misdo also has this praline truffle version, and I feel like it's a bit more balanced in terms of the flavor profile. The chocolate donut base is layered with ganache cream and praline whipped cream, then coated in chocolate and topped with roasted almonds and crunchy chocolate pieces. The praline whipped cream did a good job of balancing the chocolate elements to make it not feel so overly chocolate focused. It is pricier than a lot of other standard Misdo offerings, but this definitely feels like a more gourmet donut choice -- so I think the price can be justified when you look at it that way.

The not so good

Flavor-wise, this is really good, but it is a touch messy to eat. Not a deal breaker, but just something to be aware of -- all the toppings end up falling off a bit! Overall though, I think this was probably my favorite out of all these Misdo x Godiva collaboration donuts that my family and I tried. Probably not my kids fave, but I thought it was balanced and indulgent, and I liked it more than the straight chocolate noir truffle donut. If it sounds like a must-try item to you, I would recommend heading in to your nearest Mister Donut store sooner rather than later. Happy eating, and enjoy! :)
