Yakiniku Day!

I've learned a lot via this site about special days in Japan. Not designated national holidays, but I guess you could call them pseudo-holidays, which celebrate fun things. For instance, Cat Day on February 22nd, and Pocky Day on November 11th.

If you didn't know, today (August 29th) is Yakiniku Day, and it gets that moniker because the numbers of the date (8, 2, and 9) can be read as ya, ni, and ku.

If you're not in the mood for cooking lunch or dinner today, it's a good reason to consider something meaty!
