This dessert looks really fancy with all of its beautiful layers, but I think what makes it shine is the fact that in reality it's actually quite simple -- crepe dough with whipped cream and a strawberry sauce/syrup layered in between. On top there's more whipped cream and strawberry sauce to finish it off, too! I think initially the price of 520 yen might seem a bit expensive for a chain store dessert, but you can get it in a cake set with coffee for only 30 yen extra. I think when you take that into consideration it's a pretty great deal.

Sometimes I feel like these millefeuille crepe cakes aren't as satisfying as a typical cake is, because it feels like it's predominantly "fillings" and not cake dough. In saying that, it can probably be seen as a positive, too -- it feels like a lighter cake offering, and sometimes that's just what you need. Overall I think this is tasty and it feels seasonally appropriate because of the strawberry focus. Definitely get it in the coffee set to maximize your value for money, as alone I think it's a bit pricey.
