The description
This product is the newly released Tsukimi Japanese Cutlet burger, and it's one of two burger offerings from KFC for Tsukimi time (there's also a wrap and a pie). The burger comes in a meal with a small fries and medium drink for 1000 yen.
The good
My husband loves tsukimi time because a lot of the fast food chains here add egg to their burgers, and he's an egg aficionado if I've ever met one. This review is from his POV. The burger itself is sizeable since it comes with the sauce-coated cutlet, a fried egg, some shredded cabbage, and an egg-filled tartare sauce which is a new addition. You can get it in a meal with small fries and a drink for 1000 yen, and since it's a filling burger it seems like decent value for money. It's a good option for anyone who likes various flavors and textures in their burgers of choice.
The not so good
Not sure if it was just our local KFC store or it's like this with all of these tsukimi cutlet burgers, but it was fairly messy to eat. The saucy cutlet and the egg-filled tartare sauce means that the bun is soaking up a lot of moisture, and that means that the bun's structural integrity gets weakened a bit! Just one sauce probably would have been sufficient, so just keep that in mind. If you find yourself really liking it, then you only have a relatively short window of time to get your hands on it, too. If it sounds like a must-try then head into your nearest KFC store while you can. Happy eating!
