Sukiya's beef sukiyaki hot pot set is a lovely option when you're craving something warm, hearty, and comforting. The beef was really tender and it soaks up the sukiyaki sauce flavor, and the vegetables add some nice texture and balance. I particularly like that it comes with rice, making it a satisfying meal without needing to order anything extra. The egg is a nice touch, too. Dipping the beef and veggies into it gives everything a richer and creamier flavor, but you can also go down the route of stirring the egg into the pot instead if you'd like!

While this is a satisfying meal, I think the sweetness of the sukiyaki sauce might be a little much for people who prefer strictly savory flavors. With the beef, the veggies, and rice all soaking up that same sauce, things can become a little repetitive towards the end. I'd also have liked a little more variety in the vegetables, as the beef is definitely the main attraction here. Another downside is that it's only a seasonal offering, so you can't necessarily count on finding it on the menu whenever a sukiyaki craving strikes! The standard meat portion might also leave bigger appetites wanting more, although you can double the beef for an additional 320 yen.
