The description
This product is a Haagen-Dazs ice cream in a Vanilla Caramel Pie flavor, and I purchased it from my local Lawson convenience store. It was priced at 346 yen including tax.
The good
Flavor wise, this is a really delicious ice cream if you're a fan of vanilla and caramel. The vanilla ice cream has a layer of pie crust in the middle of it, and the whole thing comes topped with a thick caramel sauce that has visible vanilla flecks in it. I think it's also a great option for those who like a little texture in their ice cream products because of the pie crust -- I thought it was a fun addition that elevated this ice cream flavor from some other ones that Haagen Dazs have released.
The not so good
At 346 yen for a small tub of ice cream, this is hard to justify purchasing again -- even when the product is delicious. The price has gone up even more than usual Haagen Dazs flavors (I'm not sure if it's a permanent increase or just for this product), with other flavors this year sitting at the 319 yen mark which still felt expensive. The pie crust layer isn't your typical crisp pie crust layer as it's stuffed between ice cream, so while it still adds a good flavor and texture it might not be what you're expecting. I still enjoyed it a lot though, and would recommend trying it at least once if it sounds appealing to you.
