Grateful for English language info!

Sometimes I think to myself about just how friendly Japan is towards foreigners. I think there's a lot of discussion that tends to focus on the opposite, but little moments still catch me off guard in a good way.

The other day I noticed a sign about paying car taxes that had English explanations and a QR code linking to extra information for non-Japanese speakers. It made me think about how that wouldn't happen in my home country. You'd probably just be expected to figure it out yourself somehow.

Of course, Japan's not perfect, and anyone who has lived here long enough has probably run into their own laundry list of frustrating situations too. But I do think some of the everyday consideration shown toward foreigners can go unnoticed because it becomes normal after a while.

It was just a simple sign in the end, but it genuinely made me stop and appreciate the thought behind it.
