The description
This product is a Kikyo Shingen Mochi Shironoir, a limited-time variety of the popular dessert at Komeda Coffee stores. It was priced at 850 yen including tax.
The good
If you appreciate desserts that are a bit of a Western-meets-Japanese fusion, then this new shironoir flavor from Komeda Cofee should be appealing to you. It takes inspiration from the Kikyo Shingen Mochi traditional sweet, and the danish comes with a chewy cream filling and soft serve ice cream, kinako, and brown sugar syrup on the top. I liked the combination of flavors and thought they all worked well together. It is a big dessert, too, so even though the price initially seems expensive you should definitely split it with someone!
The not so good
As I mentioned above in the positive features section, this is definitely a larger sized dessert -- I'm talking over 1000 calories for the whole thing. It's great if you have someone to share it with, but it would be fun to see a more suitably-sized option for folks who might be visiting the store solo. Otherwise it's likely to just end up as half of the product thrown out (unless you can stomach 1000 calories of danish and ice cream). Loved the taste though, and would recommend it to folks who like fun, fusion-style desserts. It's only around for a limited time so head in to your nearest Komeda Coffee store if it sounds appealing to you.
