The description
This product is called the "Marron and Cassis Parfait crispy sandwich" and it's a limited time offering from Haagen-Dazs. It's priced at 373 yen including tax.
The good
This new Marron and Cassis Parfait crispy sandwich from Haagen Dazs is a really fun combo of flavors, especially if you're a fan of chestnut desserts. What makes it particularly enjoyable is the cassis coating, which adds a little tartness and stops the whole thing from becoming too sweet or heavy. The crispy wafer gives it a nice crunch, too, making each bite a little more interesting. I also like the contrast between the pale ice cream and the vibrant pink coating. At 373 yen, it's a rather indulgent little treat, but one that feels a bit more special than your everyday ice cream. If it's in the budget, I recommend giving it a go!
The not so good
The biggest downside is that the chestnut flavor could be a little more pronounced. While it's certainly there, the cassis coating has quite a strong presence, so anyone who's expecting a really deep chestnut taste might find it a little bit underwhelming. I also think size wise it's not the best bang for your buck, especially if you're just after an ice cream treat and don't care too much about seasonality or a specific flavor. Finally, it's a limited-time release, so it's not something you'll be able to enjoy all year round if you do find yourself really loving it!
