Same, but different

Last weekend I visited a temple that’s in the town over from us. There’s something beautiful about visiting places like that when they’re covered in snow, but it changes the look of a place so much. I didn’t actually realize until I’d been home for a while (and scoured my phone’s camera roll) that I had actually been to the same temple when we first moved out here to Niigata, just in the height of summer.

You can start to appreciate why! They look like two different places.

Both seasons have their beauty, but it’s significantly easier getting around the temple grounds when they’re not buried by meters of snow!
