A summer respiratory issue is doing the rounds, and it's not COVID

I think over recent years we've all become acutely aware of our respiratory systems, given the far-reaching impacts of COVID. This summer it seems like there's another kind of respiratory issue doing the rounds, though, with whooping cough hitting the highest numbers since the current form of record keeping began in 2018.

It's a good reminder to make sure your vaccinations (and those of any family members) are up to date, since whooping cough is largely preventable that way. Apparently it's one of the leading causes of vaccine-preventable deaths worldwide, which makes you sit up and take notice.
