The description

This product is a new Haagen-Dazs flavor (caramel noisette) and it's a collab with Japanese chef Sadaharu Aoki. It was priced at 496 yen including tax.

The good

This definitely comes across as a premium product, and it's a collab with Sadaharu Aoki, a Japanese chef patissier who works in France. Flavor-wise, this has notes of caramel and hazelnut to it, plus rum -- the ingredients list does note alcohol on it, so this is definitely an adults ice cream. There are some saucy layers (caramel and hazelnut) along with hazelnut pieces, so if you like a bit of texture with your ice creams of choice then you'll enjoy this one. All of the elements felt cohesive, so that was nice as well.

The not so good

The biggest downside is that the price of this is crazy expensive, at literally almost 500 yen for the tub. Regular ol' Haagen-Dazs ice creams are already pricey enough, but this one is even more so -- and probably because it's seen as an extra premium, collaboration product. I'm not mad that I tried this since it was still tasty, but there's no way I would buy it again for the price. That's also reflected in my overall rating, because I can't in good faith say that it's worth 500 yen when there are much cheaper ice cream options that are just as satisfying.
