Inspiration for Mother's Day in Japan gifts under 3000 yen

Scrolling through Mother's Day ideas here in Japan lately, I keep seeing the same theme pop up, which seems to be not about spending less, but about spending smarter. A recent survey from hahanohi.me puts the "typical" budget at around ¥4,000, but more and more people are aiming for under ¥3,000 without sacrificing that lovely-gift feeling. The options in that range are really quite nice, too!

Flowers still dominate (no surprises there), with some pretty arrangements on their list that tick the box for aesthetics. What stood out to me, though, were the practical gifts sneaking into the rankings. A soft foot pillow, an Imabari towel disguised as a bouquet (I think this is super fun and super Japanese!), and even elegant ochazuke and soup sets all made their recommended item listing.

I personally loved the Imabari towel which is folded to look like boxed carnations! Clever!
