Japan's innovative pizzas on pizza day
I learned today via BigFamJapan's blog that today is pizza day in Japan! It did get me thinking about some of the more inventive pizza toppings that you can find here.
First up is corn, which I think is (all things considered) pretty mild on the inventive scale. It's not my favorite, but it's not as polarizing to me as some of Japan's other offerings.
Next is shirasu, which I notice creeping its way into many Italian dishes. I wrote a couple of weeks ago about a friend who had it in pasta on a lunch date, but it also often appears on pizza. Definitely not one I would pick for myself, but friends like it. You do you, as they say.

It's a no from me.
There's also mentaiko in the fishy realm, and I'm also not a fan there, either. I think if you like salty flavors then maybe it's good (perhaps Japan's version of throwing some anchovies on there) but it's not my cup of tea.
One that I have seen from time to time and liked is the addition of teriyaki chicken to pizzas. I actually think this one would do well in my home country!
Can you think of any other pizza toppings here that are relatively common, but unique when compared to offerings you might find in your home country?
