The description

This product is a Dubai Chocolate Latte, and it's a limited time offering available from Tully's Coffee stores. It was priced at 700 yen, and you can get it hot or cold.

The good

I'm a fan of pistachio and chocolate together, so this Dubai chocolate latte from Tully's was always going to catch my attention. The latte has a nice richness to it, and the pistachio whipped cream adds a nutty sweetness that works well with the chocolate. The crunchy kataifi pieces are what make it a bit different from your usual coffee, adding some texture with every sip. I also appreciate that you can order it hot or cold, depending on the weather or what you're in the mood for. It's a good option if you enjoy flavored coffees that are a little more interesting than the usual latte, and the Christmas-themed cup is nice for those festive warm and fuzzy feels.

The not so good

At ¥700 for a tall, this is definitely not an everyday coffee, particularly when you consider how quickly the cost of a regular coffee adds up. I'm also not entirely convinced that crunchy pieces in a drink will appeal to everyone. I can see how the kataifi might be fun at first, but some people will probably prefer their latte smooth rather than having bits to chew through. There's also a little Dubai chocolate fatigue creeping in, with the flavor combination appearing on what feels like every possible menu. It's a shame this is a limited-time drink for the folks who will really love it, but I'm not sure it's one I'll miss terribly once it's gone.
